Need an easy game for your next family night, classroom party, or snowy afternoon?
This free winter Scattergories-style printable is such a fun activity for kids and adults!
I love games that get everyone laughing, thinking, and spending time together without needing a bunch of supplies.
And this one is about as simple as it gets.
All you need is the printable, a few pencils, and your imagination!
How to Play Winter Scattergories
This winter word game features five letters across the top of the page:
S, C, A, R, and F.
Players must think of words that begin with each letter and write them in the spaces provided.
You can make the game winter-themed by asking everyone to come up with words related to winter, Christmas, cold weather, or cozy activities.
For example:
- S — Snow
- C — Cocoa
- A — Angel
- R — Reindeer
- F — Frost
Try to think of as many unique words as possible!
Turn It Into a Friendly Competition
Set a timer for three to five minutes.
When the time is up, compare answers.
Award one point for each valid word, or make the game more challenging by awarding points only for answers nobody else wrote.
The person with the most points wins!
Younger children can play without a timer, and older kids can compete against parents or siblings.
When to Play
This printable works wonderfully for family game nights, homeschool vocabulary practice, winter classroom celebrations, and indoor activities when it’s too cold to go outside.
