Sometimes I think we forget just how much kids love having the freedom to be creative.
We spend so much time looking for structured activities, crafts with directions, and projects that are supposed to turn out a certain way.
But sometimes all our kids really need is a piece of paper and permission to use their imaginations.
That’s one reason I love simple drawing activities.
They don’t have to look perfect.
They don’t have to turn out like the picture on Pinterest.
And there isn’t just one right way to do them.
Today I’m sharing a free Thanksgiving drawing activity for kids!
Free Printable Thanksgiving Drawing Activity
This printable is a fun way to encourage a little creativity during the Thanksgiving season.
Simply print out the page and give your child some crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Read the directions together, then let them get started.
You can help younger children understand the prompt, but try to let them come up with their own ideas.
It’s always fun to see what children create when we give them a little creative freedom.
Ways to Use This Thanksgiving Drawing Printable
During Thanksgiving week
Add the activity to your November plans for a little holiday fun.
At the Thanksgiving kids’ table
Put a drawing page at each child’s seat, along with some crayons.
For a classroom activity
Use it as a creative Thanksgiving activity.
During family time
Sit down and draw alongside your kids!
You don’t have to be an amazing artist to have fun together.
In fact, sometimes the sillier your drawing is, the more your kids will enjoy it.
Encourage Creativity Without Perfection
One thing I always want my kids to understand is that they don’t have to be perfect to enjoy creating something.
Art isn’t about making everything look exactly right.
It’s about trying something, expressing yourself, and having fun.
So if your child’s drawing doesn’t look anything like you expected, that’s perfectly fine.
Let them enjoy the process.
