How to Play the Winter Word List Game
The rules are easy!
Using only the letters found in the phrase HAPPY HOLIDAYS, see how many different words you can create.
For example, you might find words like:
- Happy
- Day
- Play
- Say
- Ship
- Hop
Write each new word on one of the lines provided.
The goal is to see who can come up with the most words.
Just remember that you can only use the letters available in the original phrase, and you cannot use a letter more times than it appears!
Make It a Family Competition
Want to make things a little more exciting?
Set a timer for five minutes and have everyone race to create their word lists.
When the timer goes off, compare your answers.
You can award a point for each correctly spelled word.
For younger children, consider allowing two- and three-letter words, while older children and adults can challenge themselves to find longer words.
