Simple Cheesy Dogs in a Blanket

Spread the love

Do your kids love cheesy dogs in a blanket? Let’s get real for a minute. Feeding kids can be hard. They can be soooooo picky. Yes, I could listen to those health geniuses that just say if you don’t feed it to them, they won’t want it. This can be true for a while, but honestly, it may backfire.

I have seen so many moms say they were so strict with what they fed their kids that they grew up either being scared to try anything or they overindulged when they were away from their homes. There has to be a fine balance, right? So, if you came here looking for an ultra-healthy lunch to feed your picky kids, this isn’t the place. Today I am sharing with you this very basic, very kid-friendly cheesy dogs in a blanket.

Is it ultra healthy? No. Does it use processed foods? Yes. Did my kids eat it? Yes. Because, we are being real, they are kids. Feeding a large family is putting a huge dent in a lot of people’s wallets. So, we do what we can, right? That means my kids get healthy food, but they also get fun food like cheesy dogs in a blanket. If you are a real mom like me, read on. 🙂

Ingredients to Make Cheesy Dogs in a Blanket

These ingredients are so simply. I will say, typically when I make these, I use those little sausages that you put in smokies. However, when I reached for those little guys and take one glance at the price tag ($5.99!) I Immediately put them back and grabbed the $1.99 bag of hotdogs. Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 1 package of crescent rolls
  • 1 package of hotdogs
  • 1 package of cheese.

I used the processed cheese because that’s what I had on hand. Of course, you can change this recipe to fit the needs of your family. Want to use healthier cheese? Go for it. Want to make your own crescent roll bread? Do it. I’m a big fan of using what is on hand.

How to Make Cheesy Dogs in a Blanket

The first step is to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

While it is preheating, roll out your crescent rolls. Then cut your hotdogs in half. place pieces of the cheese on the crescent rolls, then the hotdogs.

Roll up the crescent rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Pop them in the oven and cook them for 9-12 minutes.

That’s it! So simple and a meal kids WILL eat.
