How to Make a Paintbrush Snack for Kids

Listen, this isn’t a healthy snack. So, if you prefer to keep your kids away from sugar, you can substitute the icing for a different ingredient. But, if you don’t mind your children having some sugar, then this snack will be a hit with them!

The first step is to separate the icing into different bowls. Use as many bowls as different colors you want to make. We did pink, purple, green, and blue.

Mix the food coloring and icing.

Next, open up the Rice Krispie treat packages.

Then, stick the bamboo sticks into the end of the Rice Krispie treats to make them look like paintbrushes.

Lastly, dip or spread the colored icing onto each rice Krispie treat.

That’s it! Enjoy your sweet treat!

Make it into a Full Lesson

One of our favorites homeschool curriculums is Gather ‘Round Homeschool. However, with the unit we love to watch videos, read books, and more. If you like to pick and choose what goes into each lesson, there are so many resources out there now for homeschool families! If you are doing an artist unit, here are several of our favorite YouTube Channels to go along with this snack.
