One of the reasons for this is that crafting fosters imagination and creativity in your children. There are so many ways that this happens, but here is a rundown:
- Encourages children to develop open-ended thinking
- Focuses on improving problem-solving skills
- Crafting encourages imagination
- Creativity boosts self-expression and confidence
- Can improve fine motor skills

How to Put Together the Jellyfish Paper Plate Craft
Now, let’s get started on this adorable jellyfish craft! It is so simple and open-ended that your kids will have much fun as you encourage their creativity. You may be surprised at just how unique each jellyfish turns out.
The first step is to cut 1/3 of the paper plate off the bottom. Then, paint the paper plate with any colors your child would like. They can have fun making a rainbow jellyfish like the one pictured, or they may want their jellyfish to be one solid color. Whatever their choice is, there are so many options!
After the paint dries, cut out two circles from the white paper. Using a black marker, draw eyes on the white circles. Glue these eyes onto the center of your paper plate.
Lastly, glue or tape the pipe cleaners to the bottom of the paper plate. These are the jellyfish tentacles. Now, you are all done and have a cute and colorful jellyfish to display!
