Now that the Christmas season is upon us, it’s time to think about how you are going to spend the season cherishing it with your families. Cue this Christmas bucket list. Before you freak out on me and scold me for telling you to add more to your plate, I want to say, it’s absolutely okay for you to do nothing except survive this holiday season. However, if you are a mom or dad looking for fun yet simple things you can do to add in a little magic during this holiday season, look no further. I create this very simple, yet fun Christmas bucket list.
There are only 15 items on this list, so it won’t be too overwhelming. Of course, if you want one that is even longer, let me know in the comments below.

What is the Point of a Bucket List?
You know how time just seems to pass us by, without a second thought? There’s so much on our to-do lists, but we never seem to get to the fun things. But when we put together a bucket list, then it is calling for our attention. We can print it out, place it somewhere we can see easily, and check it off as we go. It reminds us to slow down and get to all those fun activities we have been wanting to do.
Bucket lists also add a little bit of magic to your child’s holiday. They don’t have to be expensive. YOU can stream a free Christmas movie on the television, read a fun book you already have, or even drive around and look at the lights in your town, for free.
However, having fun traditions that you can look forward to doing as a family, is a great way to sprinkle in a little bit of the Christmas magic.
What is on the Christmas Bucket List?
I want to keep our bucket list somewhat easy and cheap. I added several things that our kids love to do, and that we can probably get away with doing without breaking the bank. Let’s face it, the holiday season can be stressful on the wallet. Adding in extras for the sake of fun can feel more like a burden. No one wants that! Here are the 15 items listed on my Christmas bucket list for 2024.
- Have a Hot Cocoa Bar
- Build a Snowman
- Look at Christmas Lights
- Visit a Christmas Farm
- Watch a Christmas movie
- Bake Christmas Cookies
- Make Gingerbread Houses
- Design Ugly Sweaters
- Make Paper Snowflakes
- Make a DIY Snowglobe
- Make Homemade Christmas Ornaments
- Make Christmas Cards for Friends and Family
- Make Reindeer Food
- Create a Care Package
- Listen to Christmas Music
If you want more ideas to add to your bucket list, here are several that we enjoy:
- Build an Igloo
- Make Snow Cream
- Visit a Christmas Tree Lighting
- Have a Gingerbread House Competition
- Play Christmas Bingo
- Make Cinammon Ornaments
- Read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
- Write a Letter to Santa
- Make a Christmas Wreath
- Make a Christmas Countdown Garland
With the 15 on the bucket list and the 10 below, that makes 25 things to do this Christmas season. You can make it a 25 days of Christmas where you knock one thing off your bucket list each day, or group them together.
Either way, your family and you will have loads of fun checking these items off the list!
