How to Make a Fall Leaf Paper Plate Wreath

Step 1: Prepare your paper plate.

Start by cutting out the center of a paper plate, leaving the outer rim intact. This will be the base of your fall wreath.

Younger children will probably need a little help with this step.

Step 2: Gather your fall leaves.

Grab your colorful artificial leaves and let your kiddos choose their favorites!

We used a mixture of red, orange, and yellow leaves to give our wreath those beautiful autumn colors.

Step 3: Glue on the leaves.

Have your child glue the leaves around the paper plate ring, overlapping them slightly so the plate is mostly covered.

There’s no right or wrong way to arrange them, which is one of my favorite things about crafts like this!

Let your kids get creative and make their wreath their own.

Step 4: Let it dry.

Once all the leaves are attached, set the wreath aside until the glue is completely dry.

If you’d like, attach a little ribbon or string to the back so you can hang it up.

And that’s it! Your beautiful fall leaf wreath is finished!

A Simple Fall Craft for Little Hands

One of the things I love most about this activity is how easy it is to adapt for different ages.

Younger children can practice picking up, arranging, and gluing the leaves, while older kids can experiment with different patterns and colors.

It’s also a fun opportunity to talk about the changing seasons, why leaves change colors, and all the things we love about fall.

Plus, you end up with an adorable homemade decoration!

Hang your wreath on a door, display it in the kitchen, or add it to your Thanksgiving decorations.

Happy Fall!

Sometimes the simplest crafts turn into the sweetest memories.

You don’t need expensive supplies or elaborate activities to spend meaningful time with your kids. A paper plate, a handful of colorful leaves, and a little creativity can go a long way!

I hope your little ones have as much fun making this Fall Leaf Paper Plate Wreath as we did.

Happy crafting, and happy fall from The Peaceful Nest!
